Ever wondered what it is like on a ship's bridge? At the Museo Maritimo, we are introducing an exciting new exhibit designed specifically for maritime transportation students: Who's Aboard?

Inspired by the classic tabletop game, Guess Who?, this reimagined version challenges players to identify their opponent's chosen member/character—not based on their appearance, but rather on their responsibilities on board. Each character represents a real-life deck department role, ranging from captain and chief officer to bosun and able seaman. The questions must draw directly from the STCW Convention, so each round allows you to practice your knowledge of duties, hierarchy, and life at sea.

The game is played on top of a ship's barrel, adding a nautical flair that sets the stage for teamwork and competition. As you flip down the board's pieces and narrow your options, you will be practicing the same deductive reasoning that is used in real bridge operations. When the round is finished, the instructors must lead a brief debrief to connect the gameplay with bridge procedures and the chain of command.

Who's Aboard? is not a replacement for simulators; rather, it is a complement.  Consider it a low-stakes, high-energy way to hone your skills, become acquainted with your prospective careers at sea, and learn the hierarchy (who outranks whom) that keeps a ship running smoothly.

So, gather your classmates, approach the barrel, and find out… Who's Aboard?
