Pasay City, Philippines — Matagumpay Maritime Inc., together with its esteemed international partner, Inui Global Logistics Co. Ltd. of Japan, conducted an official visit to the AIMS Museo Maritimo on December 6, 2025. The visit marks a significant step toward reinforcing collaborative efforts in maritime education, cultural appreciation, and cadet development.

The delegation from Inui Global Logistics Co. Ltd. was composed of high-ranking officials led by Mr. Osamu Hashimoto, General Manager, Ship Management Department, together with Mr. Hiroshi Makino, Shipping Department; and Mr. Shin Sasaki, Shipping Department. Representing Matagumpay Maritime Inc. were Mr. Jamez Falconer L. Zabala, General Manager, together with their Administrative Personnel’s: Capt. Felipe M. Zaragosa, Capt. Gualberto M. Chavez, C/E Danilo N. Castro, 2/O Jason B. Montecillo, and 3/E Ricardo B. Valle Jr.

The industry partners were warmly welcomed by the AIMS community led by Mr. Juan Martin R. Guasch, Dean of the Center for Library, Archives, and Museum Services (CLAMS). Joining him were Mr. Daryl Lorence P. Abarca, Museum Curator and Researcher; Mr. Anjo C. Undecimo, Digital Associate; Ms. Ma. Raquel P. Mantala, CLAMS Librarian; Ms. Angelyn G. Canceran, Library Associate; and Ms. Jaylen R. Mangulab, Library Associate. Representatives from the AIMS School of Merchant Marine, headed by C/M Fran Caster D. Pacardo, Onboard Training Department Head, along with Ms. Charmaine P. Odeña and Ms. Rea P. Cruz, also extended their support and presence.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Museo Maritimo’s exhibit galleries, which showcased the Philippines’ rich maritime heritage through historical ship models, maritime artifacts, navigational instruments, and displays depicting the evolution of Filipino seafaring traditions. The tour highlighted the vital role of maritime history and culture in shaping the development of globally competitive seafarers.

Following the guided tour, AIMS representatives held discussions with officials from both Matagumpay Maritime Inc. and Inui Global Logistics Co. Ltd. Topics included strengthening cadetship programs, enhancing faculty and professional development, supporting maritime research, and promoting cultural preservation initiatives. Both organizations expressed their appreciation of AIMS’s commitment to providing world-class maritime education and its dedication to preserving the country’s maritime legacy.

The visit concluded with a commemorative photo session and the exchange of tokens, symbolizing goodwill, mutual respect, and the shared commitment to continued cooperation. The partnership is expected to pave the way for future endeavors that will benefit aspiring seafarers and further contribute to the advancement of the maritime industry.
