We are pleased to announce that the AIMS Museo Maritimo of CLAMS has been awarded a generous grant of $5,000 (approximately 273,000 PHP) from the esteemed TK Foundation based in the United States. This grant was facilitated through the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) in Irvine, California.

The funding will support our initiative to enhance the campus environment by transforming the hallways of the Lighthouse Building and the AIMS Tower into a museum space. Our goal is to develop content that serves as an additional learning modality, thereby expanding our teaching strategies. This initiative aims to create a distinctive and immersive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students with varying learning preferences.

The museum has already started the conversion of the Lighthouse Building, and our plans include the installation of new exhibits in the AIMS Tower. The literature supporting our initiative has been peer-reviewed, presented, and published in the ICOM UMAC journal (See here on page 127). Moreover, the exhibits we are developing are anchored in the museum's published works, which have also been featured in an international journal (See here on page 220).

The grant will cover the costs associated with transforming our campus into a museum, thereby enhancing the visitor experience and supporting the operational costs of the museum for one year. This includes funding for research and publications, collections enhancement, curatorial exhibitions, and educational programs.

This grant is part of our broader effort to diversify the museum's income generation streams while delivering exemplary service to our community. It is a key component of the museum’s Grant Management System, which is being developed by our Museum Educator and Fundraiser, Ms. Nina Racela, who spearheaded and played a pivotal role in securing this grant.

Anticipate exciting developments as we integrate the Lighthouse Building and, eventually, the AIMS Tower into the overall museum experience. This initiative will enrich the educational landscape for our community and help us realize our vision of becoming the first campus museum in the country.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of CLAMS and, most importantly, to our Vice President for Student Services and Development, Ma’am Janet Abuid-Dandan, for her invaluable guidance, leadership, and vision.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting journey to enhance the AIMS learning experience.
