AIMS Museo Maritimo Soft Launch of Deck 5 Educational Walls

In honor of AIMS' remarkable 30-year journey, the AIMS Museo Maritimo of CLAMS is delighted to unveil the soft launch of our educational walls on the fifth deck of the Lighthouse Building. This educational wall titled ‘A Nation of Migrants’ narrates the story of the Filipino people - its origin and identity. It covers the waves of migration that created the Filipino identity and the gradual formation of the Filipino people as a maritime nation-state.

The educational walls in the fifth deck are the first of the four educational walls we are planning in order to improve the visitor experience from the first deck up to the museum in the sixth deck in the Lighthouse Building. The educational walls will weave the simulators and the museum into a seamless and continuous museum learning experience. In this arrangement, the facilities in the building such as the radar room, engine control room, simulators, and others will become part of the overall learning experience for our visitors.

We encourage all members of the AIMS community and all maritime enthusiasts to explore the educational walls and utilize its content and features for both personal and professional purposes. Expect exciting developments in the coming months as we gradually convert the other decks in the Lighthouse Building into an integral part of the museum experience and therefore the entire learning experience for our community.

Special thanks are owed to our interns from the PUP Department of History who helped with the content beforehand, as well as the invaluable guidance and support provided by our Vice President for Student Services and Development, Ma’am Janet Abuid-Dandan.
