AIMS Museo Maritimo recently participated in the conference entitled "Pamanang Pook - Strengthening Synergies and Partnerships in Philippine Heritage Management" held on November 19-20, 2025 at the Metropolitan Theater Ballroom, Manila. Hosted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the event gathered participants from all over the Philippines that represented national agencies, local government units, heritage advocacy groups, academic institutions, law-enforcement agencies, and museums.

Pamanang Pook, which means "heritage place" in Filipino, started its first day with Plenary Sessions that tackle topics related to cultural heritage conservation and protection as well as sustainable development. On the second day, the participants attended thematized breakout sessions and AIMS Museo Maritimo participated in the Group 4 Session entitled "Building Community Capacity for Collaborative Local Heritage Management and Enforcement". In the said breakout session, the attendees were divided in smaller groups and were assigned topics related to Damage to Built Heritage, Repatriation, Accidental Archaeological Find and Acquisition of Cultural Properties. The groups were also given questions on how issues concerning the mentioned topics should be addressed. The day continued with the Presentation of the Proceedings followed by Signing of Commitment and ended with a Synthesis.

AIMS Museo Maritimo would like to thank NCCA for giving us an opportunity to attend to the Pamanang Pook Conference. The conference serves as a reminder that cultural heritage preservation is a shared and ongoing responsibility. The event highlights how collaboration, sustainable strategies, and community engagement can protect the Philippines’ cultural treasures. More than a platform, the conference inspires participants to take active roles in safeguarding heritage—recognizing that preserving the past is essential to shaping a stronger, more meaningful future for generations to come.
