The CINEMaritimo Series aims to educate the AIMS community about various maritime-related events through curated documentaries and films that align with monthly themes and celebrations. This initiative is designed not only for entertainment but also to raise awareness of important issues within the maritime industry and to foster a deeper appreciation for film among AIMS members.

CINEMARITIMO

CINEMaritimo is a bimonthly film series held at AIMS Museo Maritimo, Lighthouse Building, every Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The event is FREE and OPEN to all members of the AIMS community. This initiative serves as a platform for cultural enrichment and social engagement, bringing together AIMS educators, students, employees, and other interested individuals. We aim to encourage participation in the CineMaritimo Film Showing Series and to stimulate the exchange of ideas and reactions among attendees.

Muro-Ami

A 1999 Filipino film that addresses the destructive fishing practice of muro-ami, which involves pounding corals. The film stars Cesar Montano as Fredo, the captain of a group of child muro-ami divers.
