PUBLICATION
Situated within the crossroads of vital trade routes and strategic waterways, the Philippines, an archipelagic nation, has seen its history and the character of its people molded by its maritime geography. From the ancient Balangays to the Spanish Galleons and contemporary freighters, the Philippines has perennially embraced its maritime identity. The Philippine Maritime Heritage Forum has played a pivotal role in consolidating and preserving the rich tapestry of maritime history and heritage.
OUR BOOK PUBLICATIONS
The Philippines, an archipelagic nation with a vast maritime expanse, has seen its history and cultural identity navigated and shaped by its seafaring geography. With over a millennium of maritime heritage, the chronicles and repositories of its nautical stories are still surprisingly sparse. AIMS Museo Maritimo, dedicated to navigating and charting the Philippines' rich maritime legacy, is on a mission to bolster this critical archive.
We are committed to launching a series of publications that will serve as a navigational compass for understanding the Philippines' maritime past. Our goal is to build a comprehensive repository of maritime knowledge that will chart new waters in the Philippine maritime narrative. This initiative aims to address the long-standing gap in the study of the sea's influence and the integral role of seafaring vessels in the tapestry of our maritime nation. Through these publications, we hope to shed light on the pivotal role of the ocean and boats in defining and enriching the maritime heritage of the Philippines.
